This runs on a recon K1F magneto set at 35 degrees, no advance retard. . The 500cc international, also 79x100, was set at 42.5, but did not have the more modern combustion chamber shape I have. On the dyno 33 and 37 degrees gave no gain!
Goldie unrestricted exhaust. Noise and British Standards are not a problem for bikes made before, er ... well when the ES2 was already an old girl.
30 mm Mk 1 concentric. 260 main jet. 3 ½ throttle slide.
My
engine is 1962 and has an alternator to power lights only. No battery. AC goes
to a Japanese regulator/rectifier and a large capacitor smoothes the current,
connected across the DC output just as a battery would be.
